If you’ve been in anything a really long time, things can get dry, especially if it’s the same old, same old happening or just nothing happening at all. People tend to break up or end relationships for this reason. Little to no intentionality or engagement doesn’t help either. Yet, this can be fixed.

If we want something different, then we have to do something different. In the natural, you can ask the other person in the relationship to do something new with you or maybe you yourself do something new and spontaneous to spark something new. We don’t have to wait for change to happen to us but we can make the change happen that we want.

When it comes to spiritual drought, the same is true. Being in the drought is a perfect opportunity to come back to our Source-the Lord. It is God who refreshes us when we are in His presence. He is the Shepherd who restores our souls (mind, will, and emotions). He restores the joy of our salvation. It is Jesus who gives us living water, and it’s the Holy Spirit that we need constant refill of everyday.

If you’re in a drought, here’s your chance to change the situation. Take a moment to let God know that you are thirsty for Him and need Him. Ask for the rain (Zechariah 10:1). Ask for Him to pour out the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13) on you and fill you fresh with new life, joy, peace, wisdom, hope and the love of God. He is ready and willing to pour it out on you. Lord, let it rain! We need You. Amen.

Isaiah 44:3 NKJV: [3] For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;
