It’s that time of year again- the time where we get rid of the old, the unnecessary, unused or out-of-date things and make room for the new or just get decluttered. Do you ever feel tired of looking at or going through the same old stuff, and think it’s time for something new or a fresh start? If you’ve been around Rohi lately, then you know we have some spiritual cleaning happening right now. Welcome to your Spring.

Spring is the time of renewal, new growth, new beginnings, new life (hence Easter). We got to get rid of the old first to make way for the new, hence spring cleaning. Though we are technically in  spring, we don’t have to have spring cleaning only at this time. It can happen at any point we need or want to see something different in our lives. It can happen when we decide that the things that are not okay with God or us, that they are done with and things must change.

Take a moment to think about it. What in your life has been something that you would like to change or you know needs change? What has been lingering around that needs to be removed from your life that doesn’t serve God or you? What have we been hoarding? What mindsets or behaviors, what thoughts or actions are recurring and are not productive or beneficial to you? For me, being late is a problem. I know it started from birth (I was 3 weeks late) but it needs to end today.

How do we clean? Do an assessment of your life. Ask Holy Spirit to help you in this process. Identify specific areas that need change and get to the root of how and why you got there. Anything that is no good and from the enemy, decide to get rid of it. Ask Holy Spirit what lies you may be believing. Break the agreements with those lies and ask Holy Spirit what the truth is. Come into agreement with the truth and let it transform your mind by changing your thoughts. That will then lead to transformation in your behaviors and actions. That then leads to a whole new you. Happy Spring! Let’s get to work.

2 Corinthians 7:1 NLT- “Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.”
