Tell The Truth, Shame The Devil

When I was a kid, I wasn’t the best sister. I would pull pranks and tell my sister stories that she thought were true. One of her unfortunate memories of it was me playing dead. She actually thought I had died. Clearly, I have not, but she was convinced at that time. She definitely didn’t want me to be dead so she would start crying until I opened my eyes and suddenly was “alive” again.

In the same way, the enemy has got a whole lot of people caught up in believing something that is not true. Many people believe lies, thinking it’s the truth and it’s hurting them, whether they know it or not.

Popular opinion can be believed as truth. Though it may be popular, it doesn’t always mean it is to be believed, especially if it doesn’t line up with what God says. The world system tries to tell us how to live a successful life and it’s without God built in its plan. That does not lead to success, but the enemy wants people to believe the lies.

Diagnosis from doctors may cause people to think that there is no answer, no hope, but Jesus heals. People may think they are too gone or too messed up for saving or have to earn their way to heaven, and please God. That’s a lie. The salvation Jesus gives is for all, and because He paid it all, we can’t earn it, but we can receive it. Before God gave us Jesus and salvation, He loved us so you can’t earn His love.

Our God is the God of truth. The entirety of His word is truth. And what God has said is far better than any lie to be believed. Believers, we are called such because we actually believe the truth of God’s Word. Or at least we should. If we know what the truth is, and believe that truth, then we need to go tell others who don’t know it so they stop living a lie or believing lies. As believers, everyone of us, regardless of who you are, and what you do, has been told by Jesus to go into the world and preach the gospel. So go tell the truth, shame the devil.
